Anesthesia at Surgery Center of Monica is provided by a dedicated team of board certified anesthesiologists.

The anesthesia team is primarily responsible for the safety and well-being of patients before, during and after surgery.  Prior to surgery the anesthesiologist carefully evaluates each patient’s state of health and the planned surgery to decide on the safest anesthesia plan for the patient. This may include placing them in a state of controlled unconsciousness called “general anesthesia”, performing “regional anesthetics or blocks” where only a portion of the body is made numb, or administering sedation when indicated for the relief of pain or anxiety.
