After Surgery

  • After surgery, you will be taken to the recovery room where your condition will be closely monitored by registered nurses.
  • You will remain in the recovery room until your physician or anesthesiologist discharges you.

After DISCHARGE

  • Carefully follow your discharge instructions. If you have any questions, call your physician.
  • A prescription may be given to you at the time of discharge. Prescriptions should be filled as soon as possible and taken as directed.
  • With your permission, a member of our nursing staff will call you the day after your procedure as a follow-up.
  • Call your doctor immediately if you develop fever, excessive bleeding, unrelieved pain, redness or swelling around the surgery site, persistent nausea and vomiting or other unusual developments related to your surgery. In the event of an emergency, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
  • If you receive anesthesia you must have a friend or family member stay with you overnight or longer if needed.
